Talently is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build, scale, and secure high-performance services using Golang and PostgreSQL. You will design and optimize RESTful and GraphQL APIs, implement secure payment workflows with Stripe, and develop scalable microservices with strong observability.

Competenze

• 5+ years of backend development experience, with exceptional candidates 3–4 years will be considered.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including design, optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Experience integrating payment systems or financial APIs, fintech-oriented environments preferred.
• Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservice-based architectures.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
• Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure, including Docker, Kubernetes, Redis, and message queues.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and backend security practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ownership, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Nice to have fintech/payments experience, Stripe or similar providers, and AI/LLM integrations.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll be expected to:

Build, maintain, and scale high-performance backend services using Golang and PostgreSQL.

Develop and integrate secure payment solutions, including Stripe, financial APIs, webhooks, and transaction workflows.

Design and optimize RESTful and GraphQL APIs supporting the platform's frontend, financial infrastructure, and AI-driven features.

Develop scalable microservices and distributed systems with strong observability, fault tolerance, and reliability.

Optimize database performance, caching strategies, and asynchronous processing using PostgreSQL, Redis, and message queues.

Implement secure authentication, authorization, encryption, and data protection practices.

Collaborate with frontend engineers, AI engineers, and product stakeholders to deliver new features and improve existing systems.

Debug, profile, and optimize backend services running in production.

Take ownership of critical technical components, ensuring code quality, scalability, and long-term maintainability.

Contribute to engineering best practices through code reviews, technical documentation, and mentorship.

You're the person we're looking for if you have

5+ years of backend development experience, although exceptional candidates with 3–4 years of strong hands‑on experience will also be considered.

Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including database design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.

Experience integrating payment systems, financial APIs, or transaction processing platforms, ideally within fintech or payment-related environments.

Experience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservice-based architectures.

Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.

Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure, including Docker, Kubernetes, Redis, and message queues.

Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and backend security practices.

Strong problem‑solving skills, technical ownership, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Previous experience at fintech, payments, or large‑scale technology companies such as Mercado Pago, Mercado Libre, or Despegar.

Hands‑on experience integrating Stripe or similar payment providers.

Experience with cryptocurrency, stablecoins, digital wallets, or on‑ramp/off‑ramp payment infrastructure.

Experience with the Gin framework and GraphQL APIs.

Familiarity with Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging technologies.

Experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.

Experience working on high-volume transactional systems where data consistency, security, and reliability are critical.

Exposure to AI‑powered products or integrations with AI/LLM‑based systems.
