Job summary

Bechtel Argentina seeks an experienced Environmental Permits Manager to oversee obtaining, maintaining and monitoring environmental permits for large-scale projects. You will translate regulatory requirements into design criteria, align with project schedules, and coordinate with engineers, regulators and stakeholders.

The role emphasizes strong knowledge of local environmental laws, regulatory timelines and effective communication with provincial and national authorities in Argentina.

Qualifications

• Requires a university degree in Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Natural Resources, Geological Sciences or Biological Sciences, with professional registration in the corresponding jurisdiction.
• Experience in mining, energy or infrastructure projects in Argentina is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of environmental permits and regulatory processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the project permits matrix with deadlines and responsible bodies.
• Prepare, review and submit Environmental Impact Reports and updates.
• Manage sectoral permits: water use, effluent dumping, emissions, hazardous waste, soil movement, and vegetation intervention.
• Maintain dialogue with authorities and ensure timely compliance with permit requirements.
• Bridge engineering and regulatory requirements to design and field teams to support project schedule.
