Job summary

Bechtel seeks a lead Environmental Permitting professional in Argentina to manage and monitor environmental permits for a major project, translating legal requirements into verifiable design criteria and aligning with project schedules.

You will prepare permit matrices, environmental baseline work, and coordinate with authorities, ensuring compliance and timely deliverables across engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in at least one complete cycle of environmental processing from study to permit approval.
• Direct interaction with provincial and national agencies and supervision of environmental consultancies.
• Exposure to EPC/EPCM environments with document control and change management.
• Knowledge of environmental regulatory regimes and ability to interpret them for engineering design.
• Proficiency in Spanish with technical English for international collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the permits matrix with deadlines and processing statuses.
• Prepare, review and submit Environmental Impact Reports and updates with supporting documentation.
• Manage associated sectoral permits: water use, effluent, emissions, waste, soil movement and vegetation.
• Liaise with authorities, respond to observations and manage audits.
• Define environmental baselines and supervise consultants; review deliverables for methodological rigor.
