Job summary

Bechtel Argentina is seeking an Environmental Permitting Specialist to manage environmental and sectoral permits for mining and infrastructure projects. You will translate regulatory requirements into verifiable design criteria and maintain a critical permit route aligned with the project schedule.

The role requires a university degree in a relevant field, 5–10 years of experience, and bilingual Spanish/English communication with authorities to ensure compliance and timely approvals.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineer degree and ten (10) years of work-related experience in substation and Line construction.
• Proven High Voltage experience in at least 2 mining projects.
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Permission management: maintain permits matrix, identify competent body, submission requirements and deadlines.
• Prepare, review and submit Environmental Impact Report and biennial updates with required documentation.
• Manage associated sectoral permits: water use, effluent, emissions, hazardous waste, soil movement, vegetation and transport of hazardous substances.
• Maintain technical dialogue with authorities, respond to observations and audits.
• Alert critical permits and propose sequencing alternatives to protect project schedule.
