At Latino Legends, we connect world-class Latin American talent with top-tier U.S. companies. We handle the recruiting and matchmaking so you can focus on building a rewarding, long-term career with outstanding teams.
Our client is a tech-forward, high-growth fractional CFO firm partnering with 7- and 8-figure U.S. businesses across beauty & wellness, interior design, and other brick-and-mortar service industries. Everything they build for their clients relies on hyper-accurate, pristine bookkeeping—and that is where you come in.
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant who is deeply fluent in QuickBooks Online (QBO) to take total ownership of client books—from initial transaction categorization all the way to final financial statements.
You will manage month-end closes, reconcile complex accounts, and deliver clean, GAAP-compliant financials. Beyond technical precision, you are an exceptional communicator who believes in taking the long route internally so clients can take the short route. You investigate and dig for answers first, only bringing streamlined, plain-English questions to clients when truly necessary.
Categorization & Reconciliations: Accurately categorize transactions using all available resources before escalating to clients. Reconcile all bank, credit card, loan, and clearing accounts monthly.
Month-End Close: Own the entire close process for each client from start to finish, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
GAAP Financial Statements: Prepare and maintain GAAP-compliant P&Ls, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements, including accruals and adjusting entries.
QBO Architecture & Problem Solving: Build and refine charts of accounts, classes, locations, and product/service setups. Find creative, sound workarounds in QBO to generate custom reporting views.
Payroll Reconciliation: Reconcile monthly provider reports (Gusto, ADP, Paychex) to QBO, including tips, commissions, and benefits.
CPA & Audit Readiness: Prepare tax-ready books and year-end packages for CPAs. Maintain clean audit trails, internal controls, and documentation.
Proactive Investigation: Research receipts, historical patterns, vendor details, and past communications before contacting clients.
Plain-English Translation: Convert complex accounting queries into clear, everyday language (e.g., asking "Was this $240 Home Depot charge for the salon or personal?" instead of requesting untagged expense support).
Efficient Interaction: Batch client questions, provide clear context, and make queries fast and effortless to answer.
Process Documentation: Draft and maintain clear SOPs to help scale the accounting function.
Workflow Optimization: Identify manual tasks and collaborate to build automated solutions.
You will be building the accounting function from the ground up. As the client expands, this role offers room to evolve—leading and reviewing team bookkeepers, shaping quality standards, and taking on higher‑level leadership within client service delivery.
QBO Certification: Active QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification with advanced, hands‑on experience.
U.S. Accounting Experience: 3+ years of direct accounting experience for U.S.-based businesses.
U.S. GAAP Expertise: Proven track record preparing GAAP-compliant financial statements and managing month-end closes.
Payroll Proficiency: Experience reconciling payroll reports from systems like Gusto, ADP, or Paychex.
Language & Communication: Fluent written and spoken English with a skill for explaining financial concepts clearly to non-financial clients.
Mindset: High attention to detail, strong systems‑thinking approach, and a desire to automate routine processes.
Industry Background: Prior experience in beauty & wellness, interior design, or brick-and-mortar service businesses.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
