Cloud Accountant Staffing - Careers is seeking a US Tax Accountant (or Tax Manager) for a full-time independent contractor role based in Latin America. You’ll prepare and review complex returns, manage multi-entity 1040/1065/1120/1120-S, and lead planning and documentation in collaboration with US teams.

This remote position emphasizes exclusivity and workflow improvements, mentoring junior staff, and delivering concise takeaways to leaders during tax season.

Qualifications

• 3+ years US Tax experience preparing and reviewing 1040/1065/1120/1120-S.
• Strong command of US federal and state tax rules and IRS procedures.
• Familiar with GAAP and tax software environments.

Responsibilities

• Own tax intake end-to-end: drive organizers, requests, and kickoff calls; map client returns to work plans.
• Prepare and review multi-entity returns (1040/1065/1120/1120-S) with quality sign-off.
• Develop planning memos, audit-ready workpapers, and timely sign-offs.
• Draft responses to IRS/state notices and manage follow-ups.
• Join calls, summarize impacts for leaders, and translate code citations to business decisions.
• Support workflow improvements by standardizing SOPs, checklists, and review gates.
