Job summary

LatamCent is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a remote accounting team serving U.S. clients from Latin America. You will handle the full close process from transaction posting to month-end, ensuring each deliverable is reconciled and complete.

The role requires fluent English, independence, proactive communication, and a long-term career focus with internal progression toward Senior Staff Accountant and Accounting Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 2+ years accrual month-end close experience or 5+ years of equivalent
• Hands-on QuickBooks Online proficiency; QBO ProAdvisor a plus
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP
• Experience handling multiple client engagements and end-to-end close processes
• Openness to using AI tools in the accounting workflow

Responsibilities

• Process day-to-day transactions in QuickBooks Online
• Reconcile bank, credit card and balance sheet accounts monthly
• Record recurring accruals, prepaid releases, payroll and standard journal entries
• Allocate revenue and expenses to classes, jobs or projects (job costing)
• Manage activity in Ramp and other client platforms
• Maintain subsidiary schedules and tie them to GL monthly
• Complete client-specific tasks like invoicing and collections follow-up
• Review books against a defined close process before submission
• Communicate with clients within 4 business hours and escalate blockers promptly
• Follow client instructions and SOPs; seek clarification before acting
