Job summary

Tether is hiring a Mobile Engineer to own Keet Mobile on iOS and Android, built with React Native and Expo, with a peer-to-peer core that runs on-device. You'll develop features across chat, voice and video, integrate native capabilities, optimize performance on real devices, and collaborate with design, product, and core P2P teams to push the platform forward.

Qualifications

Strong experience with React Native and Expo.
Experience with Redux and Redux-Saga.
Experience with WebSockets and RESTful APIs.
Familiarity with native iOS/Android build tools is a plus.
Experience working with remote teams.

Responsibilities

Build and polish features across chat, voice and video calls, media sharing, device pairing and identity backup.
Integrate native platform capabilities such as push notifications, camera, biometrics and background tasks on iOS and Android.
Profile and optimise performance on real devices, including startup time, long chats, media handling, battery and network use.
Write unit and end-to-end tests, and help keep releases stable through CI and crash reporting.
Work closely with the core P2P, design and product teams, and review code with a high bar for quality.
