Blue Star Group is seeking a Product Control Analyst to support trading desks and Finance with accurate P&L and balance sheet reporting and month-end close with strong controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including explaining financial drivers clearly.
• Proficiency in Excel with structured workbook development.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under deadlines.
• Ownership mindset and commitment to strong controls and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily P&L and balance sheet reporting for assigned desks.
• Produce and analyze daily, monthly, and annual P&L results and metrics.
• Explain P&L movements with variance analysis and clear commentary for stakeholders.
• Support month-end close activities, including reconciliations, substantiation, and control checks.
• Partner with trading, business management, and Finance teams to deliver timely and accurate reporting.
• Coordinate with front office and back office support functions to resolve breaks and control issues.
• Identify control gaps and implement enhancements to strengthen the reporting and close process.
• Provide analytical and project support for new initiatives, process improvements, and change delivery.
• Manage ad hoc analysis requests with strong prioritization and attention to detail.
• Assist with P&L reporting and month-end close processes.
• Produce, consolidate and analyze daily, monthly and yearly P&L information.
• Provide detailed analysis and reporting on the financials to desk heads, business managers, and senior finance management.
• Partner with the business to drive forth and implement robust controls and new business initiatives.
• Drive coordination across various front & back office support functions to ensure resolution of control and reporting issues in an accurate and timely manner.
• Serve as an analytical and project support resource for product control.
• Handle various ad-hoc requests on a daily basis
