Job summary

Jalasoft is seeking a Data Analyst (Machine Learning) for a 100% remote LATAM role. You will work with large consumer and retail datasets, translating data into actionable metrics and clear summaries for stakeholders in English. The ideal candidate combines SQL, Python, and ML basics, with strong attention to detail.

The position welcomes candidates from entry to mid-level, with opportunities to deepen data manipulation skills and collaborate with international teams.

Qualifications

• 0–4 years of Data Analysis or similar roles; entry accepted with coursework or internships.
• Advanced English (written and spoken).
• Foundational to intermediate SQL with JOINs, aggregations, and CASE WHEN.
• Python for data cleaning and processing with pandas.
• Familiarity with scikit-learn or statsmodels for predictive modeling.
• Experience handling messy text fields and relational DB design basics.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field with relevant coursework.

Responsibilities

• Write, optimize, and run SQL queries to extract data from databases and cloud warehouses.
• Develop and validate machine learning or statistical models to forecast trends and behaviors.
• Slice and aggregate data to compute metrics like market share and purchasing trends.
• Build and maintain data tables and dashboards for stakeholders.
• Audit query outputs and ensure data quality before insights are shared.
• Segment data using conditional logic and transform unstructured text data.
• Translate technical results into clear summaries for English-speaking stakeholders.
