Job summary

Kiwi Financial Inc. is hiring a Data Engineer to own the data layer behind our credit risk decisions. You will ensure the data required for underwriting and renewals is accurate, available, and well-governed, serving models and analysts across the team.

You will own every data point feeding risk decisions, monitor data freshness and schema, and build robust pipelines using Snowflake, dbt, Python, and Airflow. This is a 100% remote role across Argentina, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as data or analytics engineer owning a production data platform.
• Expert SQL and data modeling including dimensional models and PIT snapshots.
• Hands-on with a cloud data warehouse, ideally Snowflake.
• Experience with a transformation framework such as dbt, plus VCS, code review, CI.
• Python for pipelines, tests, and automation.
• Experience with data quality tests and alerting (e.g., Great Expectations, Monte Carlo).
• Experience with an orchestration tool such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.

Responsibilities

• Own the inventory of every credit data source and define data needs, grain, freshness, and landing locations.
• Write data contracts with engineers for vendor integrations covering fields, types, null rules, and volumes.
• Ensure raw vendor responses are stored completely for model development and audits.
• Monitor freshness, volume, fill rate, and schema for all sources and model inputs.
• Triage data incidents and drive fixes to closure with the right owners.
• Own the Credit Risk data layer in Snowflake: raw, staging, mart, and feature tables.
