Job summary

Bitfinex is seeking a Transaction Monitoring Investigator to safeguard the platform by identifying and mitigating financial crime risks across fiat and cryptocurrency transactions. You will analyze monitoring alerts, assess unusual activity, and escalate high‑risk cases in collaboration with AML Investigators and Compliance leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience in the compliance field within the industry.
• Knowledge of AML/KYC/CTF policies and sanctions.
• Understanding of blockchain technology and crypto transactions.
• Experience with blockchain transaction monitoring tools (Chainalysis, Elliptic, TRM).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to source and understand multi-language documentation.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop transaction monitoring algorithms to detect AML, sanctions, and TF risks using a risk-based approach.
• Analyze alerts from fiat and crypto trades to mitigate risk on the platform.
• Prepare periodic reports with analysis for the Chief Compliance Officer and Product Managers.
• Collaborate with AML Investigators and other Bitfinex teams to address fraud and ML/TF risks.
• Continuously improve KYC/AML/CTF and Sanctions policies and processes.
