Job summary

GlobalLogic Inc. LatAm is seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our delivery team. You will ensure high quality of complex software across API testing, web apps, and backend services, designing, executing, and documenting test scenarios.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to defect management, and drive SDLC improvements. 3+ years QA experience, Postman usage, SQL skills, and experience with JIRA and test management tools are required; English proficiency is essential

Qualifications

• 3+ years of QA experience focusing on web applications, API testing, and backend services.
• Strong hands-on API testing using Postman for REST/SOAP services, including automation aspects.
• SQL / PL-SQL queries for backend data validation and integrity checks.
• Experience with JIRA and test management plugins (Xray, Zephyr, TestRail).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and defect lifecycle management.
• Professional working proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Test Planning & Execution: design, write, and execute comprehensive test cases within JIRA/Xray/Zephyr.

Job description

At GlobalLogic Latam, we are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our growing delivery team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the high quality, reliability, and performance of complex software solutions, working directly across API testing, web applications, and backend services.

You will design, execute, and document test scenarios, collaborate closely with cross-functional development teams, and contribute to defect management and continuous process improvement throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Requirements

Core Experience: 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance focusing on web applications, API testing, and backend services.

API Testing: Strong hands-on experience using Postman (or similar API testing tools) forREST/SOAP services, including automated collection execution and environment variables.

Database & SQL Skills: Proficient in SQL / PL-SQL queries for backend data validation, data integrity checks, and database manipulation.

Test Management Tools: Hands-on experience with JIRA and test management plugins (e.g., Xray, Zephyr, or TestRail).

Agile Methodologies: Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum processes, test planning, and defect lifecycle management.

Language Proficiency: Professional working proficiency in English (both written and spoken) to interact effectively with international teams and client stakeholders.

Job responsibilities

Test Planning & Execution: Design, write, and execute comprehensive test cases (functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing) within JIRA / Xray / Zephyr.

API & Backend Validation: Perform robust API testing using tools like Postman to validate request/response payloads, endpoints, HTTP status codes, and backend service reliability.

Database Verification: Write and execute complex SQL / PL-SQL queries to validate backend data integrity, data transformations, and end-to-end data flow consistency.

Defect Management: Identify, log, prioritize, and track software defects and inconsistencies in JIRA, working closely with developers toward resolution.

Environment & Tool Navigation: Utilize containerized and cloud platforms (such as OpenShift or Kubernetes) to check application logs, verify deployments, and inspect backend environments.

Automation Roadmap (Desirable): Collaborate with the engineering team to identify automation candidates and assist in defining test automation strategies for future sprints.

Quality Assurance Standards: Ensure all deliverables meet client quality standards, maintain accurate test execution reports, and communicate QA status effectively to stakeholders.
