Product Owner/manager

About the Role: As the Product Owner, your primary responsibility will be to transform user requirements into a tangible task backlog for our teams. You will need the confidence to challenge assumptions regarding business needs, delve into the core issues, and devise creative solutions.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with stakeholders, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to define and prioritize product features based on customer needs and business goals.
2. Convert high-level business requirements into detailed and actionable user stories, ensuring that the customer problem remains the focus of every development conversation.
3. Gain a deep understanding of customer pain points and advocate for their solutions, fostering a sense of urgency in addressing these issues.
4. Navigate discussions at various levels of abstraction, from strategic vision to technical details, without losing sight of the overall product direction.
5. Embrace versatility by learning new technologies, concepts, and skills to adapt to evolving market trends and demands.
6. Establish and promote best practices and patterns for product development, providing guidance to cross-functional teams and mentoring colleagues to excel in their roles.
7. Approach every step of the development process, including code reviews and pull requests, as opportunities to share knowledge and enhance the team's collective insight.
8. Rapidly prototype innovative solutions to test their feasibility and impact on product objectives.
9. Lead by example in maintaining a high standard of product quality and technical excellence.

Qualifications for the role:

1. 3-5 years of experience in product management of technical software products in an agile environment.
2. Proficiency in translating business requirements into technical user stories that drive product development.
3. Familiarity with software engineering best practices, version control, automated testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
4. Understanding of vendor ecosystems, evaluating open-source options versus commercial solutions, and making build vs. buy decisions.
5. Comfortable with a variety of tools for visually presenting complex information (e.g. Lucid, Miro, etc.).

Benefits of Working With Kopius:

1. The pay range is currently $102,000 - $132,000 in annual compensation. Within the range, individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
