Delaware Valley Paving Inc. is seeking a Paving Laborer / Equipment Operator with a valid CDL for immediate hire in Phoenixville, PA. This role combines CDL driving with asphalt paving support, equipment operation, and general labor tasks on active construction sites.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable outdoors, capable of operating heavy paving equipment, and willing to perform physical labor as needed to assist the crew. A valid CDL is required at the time of application.

Position Overview

We are seeking a hardworking and dependable Paving Laborer / Equipment Operator with a valid CDL to join our construction team. This is a hands-on position supporting asphalt paving and construction operations through a combination of equipment operation, CDL driving, and general labor duties.

A valid CDL is required for this position. Applicants who do not currently possess a valid CDL will not be considered.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working outdoors in an active construction environment, can safely operate equipment, and is willing to perform physical labor as needed to support the crew.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment and construction machinery used in paving operations.
• Operate company vehicles requiring a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) as assigned.
• Transport equipment, materials, and/or supplies to and from job sites as needed.
• Assist with asphalt paving operations, including placement, raking, shoveling, grading, and other paving-related activities.
• Perform general construction labor, including digging, shoveling, lifting, carrying materials, and job site cleanup.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of paving operations and job sites.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance as needed.
• Identify and report equipment issues or necessary repairs.
• Work closely with foremen, operators, drivers, and other crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently.
• Follow all company, DOT, and job site safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform additional construction and paving duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – REQUIRED.
• Candidates must possess an active CDL at the time of application.
• Valid driving record and ability to meet company driving requirements.
• Previous experience in asphalt paving, construction, or heavy equipment operation preferred.
• Experience operating paving or construction equipment preferred.
• Ability to safely and effectively operate heavy equipment.
• Ability and willingness to perform both equipment operation and general labor duties.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and perform physically demanding work throughout the shift.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and cold.
• Ability to work early mornings, extended hours, nights, and weekends when project schedules require.
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and ability to work effectively as part of a crew.
• Reliable transportation to and from the designated reporting location.

CDL Requirement

This is a CDL-required position. A valid Commercial Driver’s License is a condition of employment. This position is not intended for candidates who are seeking to obtain their CDL after hire.
