Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer for Manufacturing Support in Sandton. You will partner with production, maintenance and QA to troubleshoot, improve equipment performance and drive operational excellence.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years in manufacturing. Candidates should be proficient with mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing/industrial engineering experience.
• Familiarity with various manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and support to the manufacturing operations, addressing mechanical issues as they arise.
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for critical machinery.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure all manufactured products meet required standards.
• Assist in the installation, commissioning, and modification of new or existing manufacturing equipment.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives, focusing on safety, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
