The Integrity and Corrosion Engineer's role is to provide operational Asset Integrity support to the Argentina Asset with primary focus on integrity management programs, inspection programs, materials and coatings selection and corrosion control. The role covers plant (static equipment) and field (pipelines) portions of the asset.
The Integrity Inspector is accountable to:
Maintain and continuously improve the asset-wide Integrity Management Plan for surface equipment (facilities and pipelines).
Plan/direct/budget (within approved constraints) pressure equipment and pipeline integrity inspection, mitigation, and monitoring requirements for the Argentina Field.
Fulfill regulatory requirements (i.e. communication, documentation) related to in-service equipment, pipeline inspection, and repairs.
Implement pressure equipment and/or pipeline integrity management systems (W-IMS), processes, and tools. Includes integrity management databases, Integrity Reference Plans (IRP's), inspection data analysis, and improvement recommendations.
Lead failure analyses and provide recommendations for remediation and improvement.
Perform pressure equipment and pipeline integrity technical assurance duties.
Provide technical support to site operating and maintenance personnel related to pressure equipment and pipeline integrity maintenance requirements.
Be Contract Holder of inspection, repair or engineering contractors.
The Integrity and Corrosion Engineer is the focal point for risk-based inspection at the asset, supporting implementation of the Manage Asset Care (MAC) process.
Dimensions
Regular presence in the field (depending on activity) to support asset integrity activities is expected.
Interaction with all levels of the organization, including operators, field leadership, asset leadership, engineering, and project delivery staff.
The Integrity and Corrosion Engineer is part of the Surface Engineering Team and works closely with other members of the team, such as facilities, process and reliability engineers.
The Integrity and Corrosion Engineer is expected to provide process containment mentoring and coaching of both Shell and contractor inspection staff, as well as other technical and field personnel as required.
The Integrity and Corrosion Engineer is part of the Integrity Team and is supported by the Integrity Supervisor for field activities.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline (such as Mechanical Engineering or materials science) from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in process containment, materials, corrosion, or inspection roles.
API 510/570/653 certification is desired
JG5-level competency in the MATERIALS & CORROSION, INSPECTION

To be certified as TA3 in MCI in the near future.
Proficiency in English is required.
