Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst

Position Summary:

We’re looking for a Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst to join our growing team and be a trusted business partner. Reporting to the Finance Director of 2 Business Units (Ag Lending and Sustainability), you will work with department leadership to support their goals by providing financial planning, forecasting, and analytical support. The individual will prepare and analyze monthly financial reports to aid business decisions. The successful candidate will be hardworking, ethical, a team player, and capable of strategic and independent thinking. It operates in a fast-paced environment, supporting senior leaders through effective communication, logical reasoning, and data-driven solutions.

Responsibilities:

1. Support the monthly management reporting process and collaborate with Accounting to ensure a smooth monthly financial close.
2. Ensure data accessibility, accuracy, and quality; investigate variances between actuals and forecasts to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
3. Contribute to the forecast and Annual Operating Plan processes, including enhancing forecast models, verifying assumptions with cross-functional partners, and preparing leadership presentation materials.
4. Identify areas for improvement and develop tools for deeper analysis to drive key initiatives.
5. Support decision-making and resource allocation by analyzing ROI of investments and business decisions, challenging the status quo based on trends and variances.
6. Understand US GAAP accounting policies, ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting, and communicate these standards to business partners.
7. Partner with cross-functional leads to define and maintain KPI reporting, understand performance metrics, and optimize business operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. BA/BS in Economics, Finance, Business Management, Accounting, or related field; CFA or CPA in progress is a plus.
2. Experience with Power BI.
3. 3+ years in FP&A; experience in Ag Lending is a plus.
4. Experience with P&L management, financial systems, and accounting concepts.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master’s degree in related fields.
2. Experience with Ag Financing and Fintech sectors.
3. Interest or experience in Digital Sustainability Services.
4. Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization skills (e.g., Tableau).
5. Experience with FP&A systems like Netsuite and cloud planning tools such as PBCS (Oracle Smartview).
