What this job involves

This position involves overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and management of commercial properties to ensure optimal building performance, tenant satisfaction, and cost-effective facility operations. The role requires managing all aspects of facility operations including building systems, vendor relationships, tenant relations, financial management, and regulatory compliance while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:
  • Oversee daily building operations including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security systems maintenance
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules, manage vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Serve as primary point of contact for tenant inquiries, concerns, and coordinate tenant improvements
  • Develop and manage annual operating budgets while monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, implement safety protocols, and coordinate emergency response procedures
  • Prepare financial reports, variance analyses, and oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Monitor building performance and implement efficiency improvements to optimize operations
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3-5 years of facilities management experience in commercial real estate
  • Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing maintenance procedures
  • Proficiency in property management software and financial management systems
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for tenant and vendor interactions
  • Demonstrated experience in budget planning, analysis, and financial reporting
  • Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and compliance requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional certifications such as FMP (Facility Management Professional), CFM (Certified Facility Manager), or similar
  • Experience with project management methodologies and vendor management best practices
  • Basic knowledge of technical troubleshooting for building systems
  • Customer service orientation and experience in tenant retention strategies
  • Leadership and team management experience in facilities or property management
  • Familiarity with insurance claims processing and risk mitigation procedures
  • Experience with lease administration and space planning coordination
