Job summary

Dutoit Agri is seeking an experienced Export Logistics Manager to lead the operational execution of the export logistics programme. You will translate marketing programmes into executable shipping plans, coordinating booking, documentation, cold-chain, and shipment close-out from start to finish.

The role requires coordinating with suppliers, vessels and markets to deliver products globally. Strong organizational skills and 3–5 years of fresh-fruit export logistics experience are essential.

Responsibilities

• Integrated Export Planning: develop and manage shipment plans aligning marketing, availability, packing, cold storage, containers and schedules.
• Shipment Execution: coordinate bookings, container availability, loading, transport, port deliveries and cut-off times.
• Cold Chain Management: coordinate cold-chain requirements and ensure compliance with quality/temperature needs.
• Export Documentation: oversee documentation, deadlines and approvals.
• Cost Management: monitor expenditure and prevent avoidable costs such as storage and demurrage.
• Shipment Visibility & Stakeholder Communication: maintain tracking and timely progress updates to internal stakeholders and service providers.
• Service Provider Management: monitor performance across shipping lines, agents and service providers, drive improvements and manage incidents.

Dutoit Agri is seeking an experienced Export Logistics Manager to lead the operational execution of our export logistics programme. This role is responsible for translating the marketing programme into an executable shipping plan while coordinating every stage of the export logistics process—from booking and documentation through shipment execution, cold-chain coordination, arrival monitoring and shipment close-out.

Responsibilities will include:

1. Integrated Export Planning

• Develop and manage integrated shipment plans by aligning marketing programmes, fruit availability, packing schedules, cold storage capacity, container availability and shipping schedules.
• Identify constraints proactively and implement practical solutions before they impact execution.

2. Shipment Execution

• Coordinate export bookings with shipping lines and forwarding agents.
• Manage container availability, loading schedules, transport arrangements, port deliveries and vessel cut-off times.
• Resolve rollovers, cancellations and operational disruptions while minimising commercial impact.

3. Cold Chain Management

• Coordinate cold-chain requirements throughout the export process.
• Work closely with technical teams, packhouses, cold stores and service providers to ensure compliance with quality and temperature requirements.
• Monitor cold-chain performance and elevate deviations where necessary.

4. Export Documentation

• Oversee the export documentation process to ensure accurate and timely preparation, verification and release of all export documentation.
• Manage workflow, deadlines and exception handling while providing operational oversight to the documentation function.

5. Cost Management

• Monitor logistics expenditure and prevent avoidable costs such as storage, demurrage, detention, amendments and cancellations.

6. Shipment Visibility & Stakeholder Communication

• Maintain accurate shipment tracking and status reporting.
• Ensure timely communication of shipment progress, delays and operational exceptions to internal stakeholders and service providers.

7. Service Provider Management

• Monitor the performance of shipping lines, forwarding agents, transport providers and cold stores.
• Support continuous improvement through performance reporting and operational feedback.
• Coordinate responses to logistics incidents.
• Ensure timely notifications, evidence collection, claims administration and implementation of corrective actions.
• Grade 12. (A Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field will strengthen your application)
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in experience in fresh-fruit export logistics, preferably within an exporter or integrated fruit business.
