Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a visionary Director of Sports Performance to lead our athlete development programs in Sandton. This senior leadership role requires designing and implementing comprehensive performance strategies spanning strength and conditioning, nutrition, injury prevention, and sports science.

You will manage a multidisciplinary team, collaborate with coaching staff, and apply cutting-edge methodologies to optimize athlete potential in a hybrid setting.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Sports Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in sports performance, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity at an elite level.
• Demonstrated expertise in program design, athlete monitoring, and sports science research.
• Experience managing and developing a team of performance professionals.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with managing operations in a hybrid setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a holistic sports performance strategy for elite athletes and teams.
• Oversee all aspects of strength and conditioning, athletic training, and injury rehabilitation programs.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of performance specialists.
• Integrate sports science, nutrition, and psychological support into performance plans.
• Collaborate with head coaches to align performance strategies with team objectives.
• Monitor athlete progress, analyze performance data, and adapt programs as needed.
