Job Description

Ensure the proper and timely movement and clearance of freight, while providing exceptional customer service within the Customs Brokerage department.

Agent Core Competencies

  • Timely and Accurate Billing and Accounting: Invoices correctly and on time, follows credit approval processes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth and timely customs process flow.
  • Ensure accurate and timely client billing.
  • Understand and interpret import/export customs SOPs to fulfill customer instructions.
  • Accurately input data into operational systems.
  • Prepare and verify customs declarations, assist with customs inspections, and liaise with customs authorities.
  • Track and trace customs files and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customs officers and customers.
  • Stay updated on regulatory requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Respond promptly to emails and requests, escalate issues when necessary.
  • Complete mandatory training (52 hours/year) and participate in training sessions.
  • Promote compliance and uphold company’s cultural attributes.

Qualifications

Knowledge: Good understanding of customs brokerage processes, legislation, documentation, and transport modes. Hazardous Materials certification preferred.

Skills: Strong interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills. Fluent in English and Spanish.

Education & Experience: 6 months to 1 year related experience or training, or equivalent.
