PLS Logistics Services recently acquired The AGL Group and is expanding its capabilities into international freight forwarding and customs brokerage. We are seeking an experienced Controller to join the Finance team and lead financial reporting, budgeting, accounting, treasury, payroll, and analysis.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Strong business acumen and presentation skills.
• Advanced English proficiency, bilingual preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Manage and direct Field Billing, Carrier Accounting, Accounting, Treasury, Collections, and Payroll.
• Ensure reporting is complete, accurate, and timely per GAAP.
• Implement controls for carrier payments per contracts.
• Develop budgeting for all business units and monitor performance.
• Advise on financial implications of operations and strategy.
• Coordinate annual audit and tax return preparations with external firm.
• Provide financial analysis to identify cost reduction and cash flow improvements.
• Lead and develop the finance/accounting staff.

This acquisition is an exciting step in PLS Logistics’ continued growth, expanding our capabilities into international forwarding services, including ocean freight, drayage, and customs brokerage.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Controller to join our Finance team!

The Controller will work closely with the VP of Finance and play a key leadership role across financial reporting, billing, budgeting, accounting, treasury, collections, payroll, and financial analysis.

Some key responsibilities include:

• Manage and direct the Field Billing, Carrier Accounting, Accounting, Treasury, Collections, and Payroll functions. Supervise and oversee the performance to ensure adherence to established performance standards.
• Maintain appropriate accounting systems to ensure the complete, accurate, and timely reporting of financial information in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory agencies.
• Implement controls, as needed, to make sure amounts paid to carriers are in accordance with current contracts.
• Develop, implement, and maintain budgeting for all business units including monitoring performance to plan.
• Advise, counsel, and interpret accounting implication of operating activities.
• Carry out special projects as assigned by the Executive Management team relating to the operations of the business.
• Provide financial analysis of operations to identify areas for cost reduction, improved cash flow, and revenue enhancement.
• Implement policy and procedures and other internal controls to provide for the control and safeguarding of assets.
• Coordinate annual audit and tax return preparations with outside accounting firm.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure a smooth, efficient financial operation.
• Hire, orient, supervise, train (and/or ensure training is provided) and evaluate the finance/accounting department and staff.
• Maintain professional working relationship with outside third parties: banks, investment advisors, CPA firms, suppliers, customers, etc.

What we’re looking for:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting — MBA preferred

10+ years of relevant experience

Advanced to bilingual English proficiency
