Role Description

Person will be part of the Market Operations Analytics & Reporting Team (MART) reporting to a Vice President. This team supports the reporting for Markets Business division within CIB for all asset classes. The ability to bridge the gap between business and technology is paramount in this role, to drive the business forward in their objectives whilst shaping truly innovative technology solutions. The role is based in Mumbai but responsibilities will be both regional and global. Cross-regional partnership across technology and the business is vital.

Key Responsibilities

1. Interact closely with Front Office (Sales and traders) & onboard them to self-serve reporting dashboards.
2. Be the first point of contact for their data needs/ ad-hoc requests or enhancements to the dashboards.
3. Develop and enhance existing key MIS performance analytics and reporting.
4. Independently troubleshoot and follow through on trade life cycle events which have an impact on data quality and analytics.
5. Drive standardization across processes and reporting. Suggest and implement controls to improve efficiency & accuracy of existing processes.
6. Work with upstream data providers to ensure consistency, completeness and accuracy of transactional data.
7. Work with various groups in Markets to help streamline reporting requirements and move towards a self-service data driven model.
8. Analysis and requirement gathering for developing data visualization dashboards for firm's internal performance metrics and data points.
9. Communicate progress to senior management & escalate issues in a timely manner.
10. Present data in a user-friendly and visually compelling fashion.
11. Liaise with technology, operations and user experience partners globally.
12. Manage stakeholder's expectations and prioritize work for the Tech team.
13. Work with huge sets of data from varied systems and stitch it together to derive meaningful information.
14. Gather, understand and document business requirements (BRDs, Functional Specifications, etc.) and review the work of other BAs who report to this role.

Skills/ Qualifications

1. Graduate or Post-Graduate (preferred) with 4-8 years of experience in operations and reporting.
2. Familiarity with Markets Risk Management Systems (e.g. Athena suite) is a plus.
3. Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau) is a plus.
4. Experience of working in a Middle Office function of a bank is preferable.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders to address ad hoc data requests.
6. Familiarity with a global bank's process & operational environment including management and external reporting is a must. Strong business knowledge i.e. Investment Banking, including product, process and system knowledge. Sound knowledge of the trade lifecycle.
7. Preferred experience in some UI tools like Tableau or QlikView.
8. Project management - Managing the project end-to-end; ensuring quality output within prescribed timelines.
9. Ability to think creatively and deliver innovative solutions.
10. Strong Controls mindset - Adherence to key control/regulatory/audit standards.
11. Ability to think and act strategically: Deal with day-to-day issues as well as planning and executing projects/initiatives.
12. Excellent attention to detail, and an ability to know when a deep-dive approach is appropriate.
13. Passionate about User Experience and providing delightful reporting services.
14. Ability to drive results through a "hands-on" approach.
15. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and adept at communicating with all levels of the business and technical parts of the organization.
16. Strong with Data analysis, data mining and system analysis.
17. Can operate effectively in a dynamic/uncertain environment with tight deadlines.
18. Flexibility to work global hours and willing to travel globally, if needed.
19. Good understanding of Software Development Lifecycle & Agile methodology.
