Mutt Data is a remote-first startup delivering AI-powered data and ML solutions. We seek a Backend Developer Senior to design, build, and maintain robust Java-based backend services for scalable AI-oriented platforms.

You will contribute to architectural decisions, define technical standards, and help evolve microservices. This role embraces an AI-driven workflow and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Formación

• Proven Java backend development experience.

We're looking for a Backend Developer Senior to join our team and help design and build robust, scalable backend services as part of an AI-driven solutions initiative for one of the largest e-commerce and fintech platforms in Latin America. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Java.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and help define technical standards.

• Apply hexagonal architecture principles (or equivalent approaches with clear separation of concerns).
• Design reusable, well-abstracted components.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, promoting high-quality standards and best practices.
• Collaborate within a team focused on AI-driven solutions.

Required Skills

• Strong experience developing services in Java.
• Proven experience designing and implementing microservices architectures.
• Practical experience applying hexagonal architecture (or similar layered architecture patterns).
• Ability to design modular systems with proper abstraction and code reuse.
• Willingness to work in an AI-oriented team environment.
• Experience working with AI-assisted development (active use of tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar tools as part of your daily workflow).
• Open mindset toward integrating AI tools into the development lifecycle.
• Comfortable adapting to new AI-driven workflows and development dynamics.

• Knowledje of or hands-on experiencie with AI agents.
