This is an opportunity for a solid leader to come drive the growth and development of the Auto Centre business through a positive customer experience. You will ensure that our employees deliver a premier Auto Centre, NZTA product

and Vehicle Inspection service.

What You'll Be Doing | Mō te Tūranga

Strategic

  • Implement and adhere to the National Mobility division strategic plan and operational requirements including; profit targets, market share and service delivery standards.
  • Implement continuous improvement and quality standards in all business activities to meet AA and NZTA requirements.
  • Participate as a member of the Motoring Services management team in identifying strategies which enable the Auto Centre to achieve the business goals and provide growth of AA products and services.

Reporting

  • Monitor and report weekly and monthly on financial, service and operational performance, including relevant information regarding local market environment and trends.
  • Ensure internal audit checks are carried out to appropriate requirements.

Budgetary Management

  • Manage the financial performance of the Auto Centre within agreed budgets and ensure that the site is managed in accordance with financial expectations. Review site for productivity and cost effectiveness in areas such as processes, staffing, equipment and other resources.

Expertise and Advisory

  • Fully investigate all complaints (employee & customer) received including researching the complaint, discussing it with relevant stakeholders/and staff ensuring a conclusion is reached within prescribed timeframe which is acceptable to all parties.
  • Provide technical advice on vehicle components including complete verbal and written reports.

People Management & Performance

  • Provide positive leadership and create a team based environment ensuring that the Auto Centre and employees become an integral part of the Auto Centre model.
  • Recruit staff with the competencies to meet the business needs of the site. Assess the training and development needs of employees and ensure the delivery of any necessary training including coaching.
  • Regularly promote and introduce continuous improvement in service delivery, operating processes and performance.
  • Provide leadership and direction to foster a culture of clear accountability, continuous improvement, effective decision making and communication amongst staff.

About You | Mōu

  • Hold an Automotive trade qualification
  • Five years' plus experience in a workshop management role
  • Experience working in a b2b environment
  • Experience managing staff, customers and business clients
  • Proven experience in driving a strong quality customer service culture
  • Automotive repair and vehicle inspection experience
  • Proven track record in leading an effective operational environment
