Job summary

Meitner Energy is seeking a seasoned platform architect to own the private AI platform end to end, including the model-serving stack, gateway/router, and retrieval pipeline. You will drive tiered hosting for regulated workloads and lead model selection across open-weight and proprietary models.

The role requires strong Python, containers, and orchestration skills, plus experience with export-control environments. Dallas on-site, with international travel expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a technical field.
• 3–10 years in MLOps/platform engineering/infrastructure with ML/LLM focus.
• Hands-on production experience with high-throughput model serving and latency/throughput trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end architecture of private AI platform including model-serving stack, gateway/router, and retrieval pipeline.
• Deploy and tune high-throughput model-serving infrastructure; monitor latency and throughput.
• Implement gateway rules, routing, and security controls; ensure auditable platform state.
• Own CI/CD pipelines and automated tests, enforce engineering standards and release governance.
• Run model evaluation using evaluation harness and document results with evidence.
