Motum is hiring a hands-on Forward Deployed Engineer for a US-based client. The role is fully remote and requires strong English proficiency (C1-C2) for LATAM residents.

You will work directly with customers to design and deploy AI-powered prototypes and production solutions, guiding projects from PoC to deployment. The ideal candidate has experience with LLMs, APIs, and cloud platforms, plus strong communication skills to translate business needs into engineering work.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a hands-on and customer-obsessed Forward Deployed Engineer to join our US-based client's team at the Senior or Staff level. In this role, you'll work directly with customers to understand their technical and business problems, build AI-powered prototypes and production solutions, and take them all the way from proof-of-concept to deployment. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work directly with customers to understand their technical and business problems.
• Build prototypes and production solutions using AI and software engineering.
• Integrate customer data, APIs, databases, and existing systems.
• Takes olutions from proof-of-concept through production deployment.
• Translate customer requirements into technical implementations.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to feed customer requirements back into the product roadmap.
• Lead technical conversations with customer stakeholders, from discovery through deployment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Impeccable attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Hands-on experience building solutions with LLMs and RAG.
• Strong experience with APIs, SQL, and cloud platforms.
• Proficiency with Git and Docker.
• Proven experience working directly with customers on technical solutions: strong communication is as important as engineering ability.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with AI agents, MCP, and LangGraph
• Experience with Pinecone, Weaviate, or pgvector
• Experience with multimodal AI
• Experience building AI evaluation frameworks
