Job summary

Bechtel Argentina seeks a senior environmental engineer to manage permits, environmental studies, and regulatory compliance for mining, energy, and infrastructure projects in Argentina. You will translate regulatory requirements into design criteria and drive timelines with engineering teams.

You will lead the preparation of environmental reports, coordinate with authorities, ensure permit routes stay on schedule, and monitor environmental commitments across EPC/EPCM contexts using GIS, Excel

Qualifications

• Verifiable participation in at least one complete cycle of environmental processing: preparation of the study, submission to the authority, response to observations and obtaining the approving resolution.
• Experience in direct interaction with provincial and national public agencies, and in technical supervision of environmental consultancies.
• Mastery of the Argentine environmental regime and ability to track provincial regulations.
• Environmental impact assessment methodologies, design of monitoring plans and environmental management programs.
• Native Spanish and intermediate or higher technical English, sufficient to read international standards and participate in meetings with multinational teams.

Responsibilities

• Managing permits: prepare and maintain permits matrix, identify competent bodies, submission requirements, deadlines.
• Prepare and submit Environmental Impact Reports and its updates, with supporting documentation.
• Maintain dialogue with authorities and ensure compliance with environmental commitments.
• Define environmental constraints for engineering design and verify their incorporation.
• Support EPC/EPCM project environments and ensure documentation control.
