MetLife Argentina is seeking an Actuary to lead automation within the US Group COE, driving modernization of actuarial reporting and analytics, and migrating workflows to the Unified Actuarial Platform and Databricks.

The role partners with actuarial, finance, technology, and business teams to transform legacy processes into scalable analytical solutions, embracing innovative tools and governance across the organization.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Technical proficiency in Python, SQL, Databricks, or similar cloud-based analytics platforms to design automated reporting/analytical solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; translate actuarial requirements into scalable, well-documented tech solutions.
  • Self-starter with strong communication, curiosity, and ability to learn new technologies while managing priorities.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead automation and modernization of recurring actuarial reporting/analytical processes.
  • Create scalable, well-controlled technical solutions using Python, SQL, Databricks, and AI-enabled tools.
  • Oversee design, testing, validation, documentation, and maintenance of automated pipelines and dashboards.
  • Manage multiple automation initiatives balancing priorities, timelines, quality, and governance.
  • Develop automation standards, testing procedures, and responsible AI guidelines for the COE.
  • Coordinate with actuarial, finance, product, valuation, modeling, and technology teams.

The Opportunity

The Actuary, US Group Automation Center of Excellence (COE) is responsible for driving the automation and modernization of actuarial reporting, analytics, and business processes across US Group Benefits. This role plays a critical part in accelerating the migration of actuarial workflows to the Unified Actuarial Platform (UAP) and Databricks, enabling more scalable, transparent, and efficient reporting capabilities.

The successful candidate will partner with actuarial, finance, technology, and business teams to transform legacy processes into modern, sustainable analytical solutions while helping advance the adoption of innovative tools and ways of working across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the automation and modernization of recurring actuarial reporting and analytical processes within US Group Benefits.
  • Create scalable, well-controlled technical solutions using Python, SQL, Databricks, and AI-enabled development tools to support business and actuarial objectives.
  • Oversee the design, testing, validation, documentation, and maintenance of automated pipelines, dashboards, analytical tools, and reusable code libraries.
  • Manage multiple automation initiatives simultaneously, balancing business priorities, delivery timelines, quality standards, and governance requirements.
  • Develop automation standards, documentation practices, testing procedures, version control processes, and responsible AI usage guidelines for the Automation COE.
  • Coordinate closely with actuarial, finance, product, valuation, modeling, and technology teams to ensure solutions meet reporting, governance, and stakeholder requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, combined with experience supporting actuarial, financial, valuation, pricing, or analytical processes within the insurance industry.
  • Technical proficiency in Python, SQL, Databricks, or similar cloud-based analytics platforms, with the ability to design and implement automated reporting and analytical solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate actuarial business requirements into scalable, controlled, and well-documented technical solutions.
  • Self-starter mindset with strong communication skills, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to learn new technologies while managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Progress toward actuarial credentials (ASA/FSA) or attainment of actuarial designation, with experience supporting actuarial transformation, valuation, financial reporting, or Group Benefits functions.
  • Hands-on experience with UAP, Databricks, PySpark, GitHub, version control frameworks, automated testing practices, CI/CD concepts, or productionized analytics solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience modernizing manual or legacy processes, including Excel, Access, Alteryx, or similar tools, into scalable automated solutions.
  • Strong change management and stakeholder influence skills, with the ability to operate effectively at the intersection of actuarial expertise, automation, data engineering, and AI adoption.
