Job summary
A leading engineering firm in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced Calculation Engineer to conduct structural analysis and mechanical calculations for offshore projects. Job description
Position Overview
As part of our expansion in Dubai, we are looking for our future team member. We are seeking a Calculation Engineer (M/F) for a permanent position.
Responsibilities (English)
- Perform structural analysis of steel structures
- Perform mechanical calculations on piping and pressure vessels
- Perform flow analysis, pressure drop calculations and pump sizing
- Detailed design of steel connections (welded/bolted) by analytical methods/hand calculations
- Perform lifting analysis of skids, modules and equipment
- Write technical reports and calculation notes in technical English as per the requirements of Classification Societies Rules and Regulations
- Review, check, and verify structural drawings, and supporting documentation rated to the project in accordance with Client requirements
- Assist the project engineers during the preliminary studies, procurement, and installation phases
Responsabilités (Français)
- Effectuer l'analyse structurale des structures d'acier
- Effectuer des calculs mécaniques sur la tuyauterie et les appareils sous pression
- Effectuer l'analyse de débit, les calculs de perte de charge et le dimensionnement des pompes
- Conception détaillée des assemblages en acier (soudés/boulonnés) par méthodes analytiques/calcultus manuels
- Effectuer des analyses de levage de patins, de modules et d'équipements
- Rédiger des rapports techniques et des notes de calcul en anglais technique conformément aux exigences des règles et règlements des sociétés de classification
- Examiner, vérifier et vérifier les dessins structurels et la documentation à l'appui cotée au projet conformément aux exigences du client
- Assister les ingénieurs de projet lors des phases d'études préliminaires, d'approvisionnement et d'installation
Qualifications
- Engineering Bachelor degree (Civil / Structural / Mechanical / Naval Engineer)
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience structural design for Offshore O&G
Essential Technical Skills
- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software such as ANSYS, FEMAP or equivalent
- Understanding of industry related standards (e.g. AISC, API, ASME) and Class Rules (e.g. ABS, DNV, Norsok)
- Technical knowledge of steel fabrication and steel material selection as per relevant Codes
- Experience with High Pressure Piping (HP) Design (5k / 10k / 15k psi)
Software Proficiency
- Experience with structural analysis software, STAAD PRO or similar is mandatory
- Well versed in detailed design of steel connections with Mathcad / Excel
- Familiar with drafting softwares such as AutoCAD or similar
