Job summary
A leading engineering consultancy in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a qualified CAD Draftsman to prepare drawings and designs that adhere to engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience, a relevant degree, and strong proficiency in CAD software. Responsibilities include preparing 2D layouts, technical drawings, and maintaining records. The role requires attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to collaborate with architects and engineers.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of proven experience as a CAD Draftsman.
- Ability to prepare detailed construction and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with land and site plans.
Responsibilities
- Prepare drawings and layouts, including 2D modeling.
- Maintain logs, reports, and records of drafting activities.
- Take site measurements of client facilities.
Skills
Education
A Qualified and Experienced CAD Draftsman is required to prepare drawings and designs that meet engineering specifications. The candidate should also be proficient in preparing layouts related to land, affection plans, survey details, coordinates, etc.
To provide drawings and preliminary designs for the department’s projects and requirements.
- Prepare drawings and layouts, including 2D modelling, under the guidance of or as directed by the Project Manager or immediate line manager, in order to develop a design idea into a coherent proposal and to communicate the concepts visually.
- Prepare topographical and land maps based on survey details.
- Prepare detailed construction/technical shop drawings and plans such as:
- Site development plan
- Floor plans
- Furniture layouts
- Reflected ceiling plans
- Overall building sections and elevations
- Schedule of doors and windows
- Building services layouts, including plumbing and drainage diagrams
- Including multiple revisions, if required, under the direction of an architect or engineer.
- Maintain the highest standards of drafting practice to ensure the accuracy and correctness of completed drawings; contribute to improving designs and detailing.
- Maintain logs, reports, and records of all drafting activities in relevant databases to ensure compliance with established internal procedures and ISO standards.
- Take site measurements of the client’s facilities, as required after the completion of construction, in order to keep records of actual dimensions and sizes of the facility.
- Be responsible for the confidentiality, security, and safekeeping of all documents and drawings.
- Assist and coordinate with Architects and Engineers to ensure the collective achievement of departmental objectives.
- Ensure adherence to the department's drawing templates to maintain uniformity across all drawings.
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Architecture or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 8 years of proven experience as a CAD Draftsman.
- Fluent in English.
- Creative and able to work collaboratively with others.
