Job summary
A leading engineering firm in Dubai is seeking a Draughtsman for Marine Structures. The ideal candidate will prepare technical drawings and CAD models in line with quality standards. With at least 5 years of experience in marine structural engineering and proficiency in relevant software like AutoCAD, the role requires strong coordination skills and independence. This is a full-time position with no remote work options.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in Marine Structural Engineering.
- Familiar with Marine Structures including marina systems and coastal protection works.
- Strong understanding of best engineering practices and drafting techniques.
Responsibilities
- Prepare various technical drawings and digital models.
- Provide CAD drawings for the construction process.
- Support design site and fabrication teams.
- Liaise with design engineers for project specifications.
- Check project requirements against shop drawings.

Draughtsman for Marine Structures will be responsible to prepare various technical drawings and digital models in accordance with quality assurance standards and the Clients project specifications.
- Technical drafting to provide all range of CAD drawings required for completion of the construction process i.e. general NOC survey structural civil detail shop fabrication as-built and other.
- Technical CAD modelling for structural analysis and fabrication purposes.
- Support the design site and fabrication engineering teams with working sketches clash analysis optional solutions and problem solving.
- Liaison and coordination with design engineers to work out and understand the project requirements and specifications.
- Taking decisions related to the design drafting issues.
- Reporting to the Department Manager in regards of the work progress.
- Liaison and coordination with manufacturers and suppliers to advise exchange information and understand their needs.
- Checking analysis and comparison of requirements between contract documentation and shop drawings for the project technical study purpose and clarifications with the Consultant.
- Following the quality control procedures.
- Attending meetings dedicated to the design related issues.
- Continuously analysing the project progress and suggesting ways to improve the construction process.
- Diploma / Certificate in Structural Drafting with at least 5 years of experience in Marine Structural Engineering
- Familiar with Marine Structures like marina systems quay walls (block and steel sheet) revetments breakwaters and coastal protection works beach nourishment and profiling works etc
- Knowledge and advanced command of the design engineering computer software packages for marine/structural drawing drafting and modeling e.g. AutoCAD Civil 3D MicroStation Revit and other engineering tools experience with Tekla or Advance Steel would be an advantage.
- Experience and very good understanding of best engineering practices technical and structural knowledge in drafting techniques.
- Self-driven team player with organizational skills able to work independently.
- Proficient in MS Office and very good computer skills.
