Job summary

Durucooperation is seeking a Welding QC Engineer to oversee welding quality at site in Abu Dhabi, UAE, ensuring compliance with drawings, specs, codes, and ITPs. You will coordinate inspections, NDT activities, and quality issues with construction and client teams.

The role requires strong welding process knowledge, WPS/PQR proficiency, and site documentation, with effective communication and problem-solving skills to drive quality outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Relevant experience in Welding QC/Inspection, preferably in EPC, oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, power, or industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, inspection procedures, and fabrication activities.
  • Practical knowledge of WPS/PQR, welder qualification, welding consumables, weld traceability, and NDT.
  • Good understanding of applicable welding, fabrication, and inspection codes and standards.
  • Experience in site inspection, quality documentation, and coordination with client/third-party inspectors.
  • Strong communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor welding and fabrication activities at site to ensure compliance with approved procedures and specifications.
  • Inspect fit-up, welding, joints, materials, and weld quality at various stages of fabrication and installation.
  • Review and verify WPS, PQR, WPQ/welder qualifications, welding consumables, and weld traceability.
  • Ensure welding activities comply with applicable codes, standards, ITPs, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate and witness NDT activities such as RT, UT, MT, and PT as required.
  • Review welding and NDT inspection reports and ensure timely closure of quality issues.
  • Raise, monitor, and close NCRs, observations, and punch points related to welding activities.
  • Maintain inspection records, weld maps, test reports, quality dossiers, and other QC documentation.
  • Coordinate with client/consultant and third-party inspectors for inspection and testing activities.
  • Support quality audits and ensure proper documentation for project handover.
