Job summary

NMDC Group seeks a senior Welding Engineering/Installation Lead to direct welding teams on pipeline projects in the UAE. You will ensure compliance with API, DNV, and ASME standards, supervise subcontractors, and drive productivity while managing safety, budgets, and resources.

The role requires deep experience in mechanized welding processes, equipment, and NDT techniques, with strong coordination across PMT and offshore operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical or Civil) or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 years of related work experience in pipeline industry.
• Expertise in pipeline welding processes (GMAW/GTAW/SMAW/FCAW) and weld repair methods.
• Experience with pipeline welding equipment and auxiliary gear.
• In-depth knowledge of API, DNV and ASME welding standards and codes.
• Practical knowledge of main NDT techniques (X-Ray, MUT, AUT, MPI).

Responsibilities

• Direct welding engineering and installation welding teams; ensure productivity and safety/quality adherence.
• Ensure welding work follows established codes and client specs.
• Identify and implement improvements to welding techniques and equipment.
• Maintain safety protocols across all welding activities.
• Manage manpower, consumables, and equipment; ensure resources meet project timelines and budget.
• Oversee subcontractors; handle technical evaluations and management.
• Coordinate with PMT and Offshore Operations to align with project goals.
• Ensure teams are trained and up to date with qualifications.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to smooth welding operations.
• Provide inputs to Contracts for bidding; estimate needs for pipelay equipment.
