Job summary

Star Services is seeking a skilled welder/fabricator to join the production team in Abu Dhabi. The role involves reviewing technical drawings and procedures, setting up welding machines, and performing MIG/TIG welding with emphasis on quality and efficiency.

You will interpret drawings, ensure parts meet standards, and maintain work-in-progress storage. Candidates should have 1–2 years in welding/fabrication and strong mechanical knowledge to support conformity and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Reviews and interprets technical drawings and standard operating procedures for MIG/TIG welding operations.
• Mechanical knowledge with the ability to decide product conformity to standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up welding machines to ensure efficient welding processes.
• Perform welding on parts and materials in various directions (horizontal, vertical, overhead).
• Perform manual checks on welded joints/surfaces and grinding as needed to ensure quality output.
• Maintain storage of work-in-progress to ensure production continuity.
• Report issues to supervisor and suggest process improvements.
• Keep work area clean and organized at end of shift.
• Produce welding work that meets quality standards within timelines.

Job description

• Adhere to OHSE legislations standards and the Organization Policys & Procedures.
• Reviews and interprets technical drawings and standard operating procedures of works required for MIG/TIG Welding operations.
• Makes appropriate use of proper tools measuring instruments gages process sheets and operating manuals to assure the welding machine uptime and product quality output.
• Established the designated jigs and fixtures to achieve best fitting of parts and materials for welding works.
• Sets up the welding machines to assure the most effective and efficient welding process.
• Performs the welding on parts and materials in the most skilful manner e.g. horizontal vertical or overhead directions.
  • Performs manual checks on welded joints/surfaces and applies grinding works as necessary to ensure product quality output.
  • Records and maintains proper storage of work-in-process materials to assure production continuity.
  • Reports immediately to direct superiors any problem encountered during the welding works.
  • Make suggestions of any process or methods improvement affecting the conditions of welding works
  • Maintains cleanliness and order on the designated work station before the end of each shift schedule.
  • Consistently produces accurate welding work to the required quality standard and as per the timelines.
    
  Works within the limits of authority as defined by the line manager.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in welding / fabrication line.
  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to make decisions regarding products conformity to standards.
