Job summary

NMDC Careers is seeking an experienced Welding Foreman to lead all welding activities offshore and on site. You will supervise foremen and crew, ensure QA/QC adherence, and coordinate with inspectors and third-party support. Strong emphasis on safety gear, tool box talks, and material control.

Applicants should have extensive oil & gas welding experience, strong English communication, and the ability to read welding procedures and inspection plans while meeting offshore safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Secondary School Certificate with a discipline-specific technical qualification.
  • Minimum 10 years of oil & gas experience.
  • Solid knowledge of SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW welding processes.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Computer literacy and offshore safety training.
  • Familiar with pipeline welding codes AP1 1104, DNV OS-F 101 and BS 4515.
  • Ability to read welding procedure specs and inspection plans.

Responsibilities

  • Identify job requirements for personnel, equipment and welding consumables.
  • Select welders for each job and monitor performance.
  • Coordinate with welding inspectors and third party NDT personnel.
  • Oversee all welding activities on board the vessel and job site.
  • Supervise Welding Foremen and crew assigned to the project.
  • Issue safety gear to welders and manage supply of gear.
  • Implement applicable welding and QA/QC procedures.
  • Conduct toolbox meetings and promote safety awareness.
  • Monitor consumption of electrodes and related materials and report shortages.
  • Coordinate with client, third party and inspection team.
  • Interpret radiography films and ensure compliance with client specs.

Select welders for each job and monitor their performance

Coordinate with welding inspectors and third party NDT personnel

In charge of all welding activities on board the vessel and job site. Reports to the field engineer and barge superintendent

Full responsibility over Welding Foremen, pipe facing machine operators, spacers, pipeline welders and helpers assigned for the project

In charge of issuing his welders with safety gears required for the job and control the supply of these gears

Responsible for implementing the applicable welding and QA/QC procedures

Conducting tool box meeting with welding crew and promote safety awareness among them

Close monitoring of consumption of welding electrodes and other related material and report short-falls or request replenishment ahead of time to warehouse and field engineer

Coordination with client, third party and inspection team

Capable of interpreting radiography films and be conversant with client specifications and welding standards.

Trouble shooting welding problem and maintain progress

Compliance in accordance with section/Company policies & procedures, Policy of Integrity & Code of Conduct & HSE standards

Qualifications

Secondary School Certificate with a discipline-specific Technical qualification, or equivalent

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas Industry

Solid knowledge of pipeline welding using SMAW or FCAW processes and automatic welding using GMAW (pulsed) process in 5G downhill position, air-arc gouging and repair welding

Good standard of written and spoken English

Computer Literacy

All offshore safety training requirements

Working knowledge of pipeline welding codes such as AP1 1104, DNV OS-F 101, and BS 4515

Sound technical knowledge in welding processes such as SMAW, FCAW (inner shield and outer shield), STT and welding of various materials like carbon steel, CRA clad steel

Ability to read and understand welding procedure specification and inspection plan documents
