Job summary

Confidential is seeking a Distribution Centre Manager to oversee the end-to-end operations of a Dubai-based distribution center. You will lead receiving, storage, inventory management, and shipping to ensure high service levels and cost efficiency.

You will manage a team, enforce safety and compliance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree or relevant certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of distribution center operations, including receiving, warehousing, inventory management, and shipping processes.
• Develop and implement operational plans that align with business objectives, ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Monitor daily operations and workflows to identify and resolve issues impacting productivity and service levels.
• Oversee inventory control processes, ensuring accurate tracking of stock levels and minimizing discrepancies.
• Implement best practices for inventory management to maintain optimal stock levels while reducing holding costs.
• Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Collaborate with transportation teams to ensure timely and efficient distribution of goods to customers.
• Optimize transportation and logistics processes to minimize costs while maintaining high service levels.
• Build and maintain relationships with external logistics partners and service providers to enhance operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the distribution center.
• Develop and implement safety protocols and training programs to promote a safe working environment.
• Conduct regular safety audits and drills to maintain a culture of safety and compliance among staff.
• Lead, mentor, and develop distribution center staff to foster a high-performance culture and promote employee engagement.
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and implement training programs to enhance team skills and capabilities.
• Promote a collaborative environment where team members are encouraged to contribute ideas for process improvements.

Education

PRE-REQUISITES:

• Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., APICS, CILT) is preferred.
• Minimum Experience: 8+ years of experience in distribution center management or logistics operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• In-depth knowledge of distribution center operations, inventory management systems, and logistics best practices.
• Proven ability to manage teams effectively and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
