The Visual Merchandising Assistant supports store profitability by improving product presentation, customer flow, seasonal launches, visual storytelling, and merchandise visibility across a busy retail environment. This role brings the store’s commercial and brand strategy to life through visual standards, styling discipline, window execution, product placement and seasonal presentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement visual merchandising guidelines across the store to maintain a consistent and recognizable brand image.
• Style mannequins according to the approved styling policy, customer segmentation, product focus, and seasonal direction.
• Maintain strong visual standards across business units, windows, promotional areas, focal points, and customer-facing spaces.
• Support the Senior Visual Merchandiser with seasonal launches, new collections, events, campaigns and store refresh activities.
• Use visual elements, styling methods, props, signage and product grouping to create displays that support customer navigation and sales.
• Monitor best sellers, slow movers, stock stories and commercial priorities to ensure visual presentation supports store performance.
• Keep window displays, POS areas and key product zones clean, current, well-arranged and aligned with brand expectations.
• Follow the visual merchandising checklist and complete daily updates, corrections and display maintenance as required.
• Train and guide sales staff on basic visual merchandising standards, product presentation, replenishment and display care.
• Coordinate with commercial department managers to support merchandise handling, replenishment and inventory visibility.
• Stay aware of fashion trends, competitor store activity, customer preferences and changing retail presentation techniques.
• Liaise daily with the Visual Merchandiser to understand priorities, VM processes, layout changes and business requirements.
• Support design and execution requirements for POS, windows, signage, display areas and store visual communication.
• Help maintain a tidy and visually appealing sales floor that encourages browsing, product discovery and conversion.

Ideal Profile

• 3 years of experience in a visual merchandising role within a fashion retail brand.
• Fashion degree, diploma or related visual merchandising qualification.
• Good understanding of visual merchandising principles, styling techniques, store layout, product grouping and customer flow.
• Ability to style mannequins, build attractive displays and maintain brand standards across windows and business units.
• Awareness of fashion trends, retail competitors, best sellers, seasonal activity and customer buying behaviour.
• Strong communication skills for working with store managers, sales teams, commercial departments and visual merchandising colleagues.
• Ability to train retail staff on VM standards, display upkeep, replenishment discipline and presentation basics.
• Creative eye with strong attention to detail, proportion, colour, product coordination and visual balance.
• Practical approach to working in a fast-paced retail store with changing launches, campaigns and commercial priorities.
• Comfortable supporting POS, window and in-store visual design requirements as needed by the business.
