To lead and manage the midwifery/nursing team in the provision of patient-centric and evidence based nursing care, operational efficiency and positive patient experiences
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
- To provide strong leadership and management guidance to the team
- To ensure evidence based patient care practices are followed as per clinical standards
- To ensure positive patient experiences by developing employees and creating an environment that enables team engagement
- To manage allocated clinical and non-clinical resources in a cost efficient and effective manner to enhance safe patient care
- To monitor and manage compliance with legislative, regulatory and clinical standards to ensure continuous quality improvement
- To lead obstetric emergency preparedness and response across the unit, ensuring the team is drilled, competent and ready to manage clinical emergencies at any time
- To plan and manage capacity, staffing and patient flow proactively in response to growing unit activity, escalating and adapting resourcing as demand changes
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Desired: Master of Science in Midwifery/Nursing or related Healthcare field
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Essential: At least 3-5 years’ senior nursing experience, preferably in a private hospital
Desired: 5-10 years senior midwifery experience, including experience managing a high-volume Labour and Delivery service
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Demonstrate the ability to implement all five (5) stages of the Scientific Nursing Process (assessment, planning, nursing diagnosis, implementation and evaluation)

- Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications

- Demonstrate Nursing functional competence (Nursing practice)
- Demonstrate the ability to manage meetings effectively
- Quality management and governance standards and best practice

- Skilled in the demonstration and assessment of all relevant clinical procedures
- Stock control principles and management
- UAE healthcare regulatory framework and related requirements
- Workforce planning and scheduling
- Strong obstetric emergency management skills, including PROMPT (Practical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training) course delivery and facilitation
- Working knowledge of the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) standards and their implementation in clinical practice
- Up to date knowledge of Department of Health (DoH) Abu Dhabi regulations, standards and licensing requirements
- Advanced CTG interpretation skills and perinatal safety standards
- Change management and capacity planning skills to support a high-activity and expanding service
