About the Role
We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented UI Designer to join our banking client’s Digital Design team. This role requires someone who is passionate about creating visually stunning, user-friendly, and accessible digital interfaces. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing high-quality web and desktop applications, maintaining design systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive financial products.

Key Responsibilities
High-Quality UI Design
- Deliver pixel-perfect, sharp, and aesthetically appealing user interfaces for banking and fintech applications.
- Translate complex requirements into clean, modern, and intuitive designs.
- Ensure all designs meet brand guidelines and accessibility standards.
Design Systems & Consistency
- Build, maintain, and enhance design systems and reusable UI components.
- Ensure consistency of look, feel, and interaction across multiple platforms and digital channels.
- Advocate for scalability and efficiency in design practices.
Prototyping & Iteration
- Create rapid interactive prototypes in Figma for stakeholder review and user testing.
- Test and iterate on design solutions quickly to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Support UX designers by transforming user flows and wireframes into highly-polished UI mockups.
User-Centred Approach
- Design with a strong emphasis on usability, accessibility, and responsiveness.
- Ensure seamless experience across multiple devices, screen sizes, and environments.
- Apply WCAG and industry accessibility standards to all interfaces.
Banking Domain Expertise (Preferred)
- Understand financial UX patterns, including dashboards, payments, lending, and transaction-heavy workflows.
- Incorporate compliance and regulatory requirements into designs without compromising usability.
- Leverage experience in banking/fintech to deliver secure, trustworthy, and user-friendly solutions.
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner closely with UX designers, product managers, business analysts, and engineers in an Agile delivery model.
- Clearly articulate design concepts and decisions to stakeholders.
- Accept and integrate constructive feedback into design improvements.
- Participate in workshops and brainstorming sessions to refine requirements and co-create solutions.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Digital Media, or related discipline.
- Postgraduate degree or professional certifications in UI/UX design are a plus.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a UI Designer with a strong portfolio demonstrating web/desktop applications.
- Proven ability to design and deliver pixel-perfect interfaces using Figma.
- Prior experience in banking or fintech is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Figma (components, variants, auto-layout, prototyping).
- Strong knowledge of design systems, component libraries, and responsive design principles.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Understanding of developer handover practices and front-end alignment.
