UAE National HSE Engineer – Rail & Infrastructure

Job summary

SEGULA Technologies Middle East seeks an experienced HSE Engineer (UAE National) to support a major rail and infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi. You will implement and monitor HSE requirements across construction activities, ensuring regulatory and client standards compliance.

The role requires strong site presence, coordinating with construction teams and subcontractors, to maintain safe working conditions and drive continuous HSE improvements on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering or related field.
• NEBOSH or IOSH qualification preferred.
• Experience as HSE Engineer or safety engineer on site.
• Experience in rail/metro/major infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of RAMS, PTW, toolbox talks and incident investigation.
• Familiarity with UAE HSE regulations.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor project HSE plans, policies, procedures and site safety requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, safety audits and risk assessments.
• Monitor RAMS, PTW, PPE requirements and safe systems of work.
• Identify workplace hazards and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Monitor high-risk construction activities and ensure control measures.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings and HSE awareness sessions.
• Investigate incidents and support root-cause analysis.
• Follow up on corrective actions from inspections and audits.
• Maintain HSE documentation, registers, inspection records and KPI reports.
• Monitor subcontractor HSE performance and compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering and site management teams.
• Support emergency preparedness, drills and emergency response activities.
• Participate in project HSE meetings and provide improvements.
• Ensure compliance with UAE HSE regulations and project-specific safety standards.
