The role supports implementation of ADNOC's HSE Control Framework by ensuring company personnel, contractors, subcontractors, drivers, vehicles, and journey management activities comply with Transportation Safety requirements across operational facilities.

Role Context The Transportation Safety Specialist provides field-based assurance that road transport activities are planned, monitored, and executed in accordance with ADNOC Onshore HSE standards. The position combines inspections, contractor oversight, driver performance analytics, vehicle compliance, journey management, incident investigation, and transportation technology to reduce road traffic risk. The role also maintains visibility over driver, vehicle, road, and journey data while using systems such as IVMS, AFDD, DMS, telematics, and GPS to identify unsafe trends, enforce corrective action, and strengthen transportation safety performance across company and contractor operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure effective implementation of ADNOC Onshore Transportation Safety standards across operating locations.
• Maintain accurate oversight of company and contractor drivers, vehicles, road networks, and transportation safety requirements.
• Conduct regular field audits, inspections, and spot checks covering vehicles, drivers, road conditions, and journey management systems.
• Verify compliance with Transportation Safety Corporate Manual requirements and associated corporate practices.
• Review implementation of transportation controls within the Health Safety and Environment Management System.
• Monitor driver behavior using IVMS, AFDD, DMS, telematics, GPS, and other approved monitoring technologies.
• Analyze vehicle and driver performance data to detect speeding, harsh driving, fatigue indicators, unsafe behavior, and recurring risk trends.
• Develop corrective and preventive actions in response to identified transportation safety deficiencies.
• Enforce implementation of corrective actions and monitor closure of outstanding safety findings.
• Assess contractor and subcontractor compliance with ADNOC Onshore road safety standards.
• Conduct systematic contractor performance reviews and elevate significant non‑compliance where necessary.
• Lead investigations of road traffic incidents and ensure comprehensive root cause analysis.
• Develop practical recommendations to prevent recurrence of transport‑related incidents.
• Coordinate with site teams and transportation units to resolve identified weaknesses and implement systemic improvements.
• Support operational teams in strengthening driver supervision, vehicle compliance, and journey management practices.
• Lead transportation safety campaigns and ensure active participation by drivers, supervisors, contractors, and operational personnel.
• Promote safe driving behaviours and improved road risk awareness through targeted field engagement.
• Coordinate with government authorities and ADNOC Group companies on road safety requirements and enforcement practices.
• Share transportation safety lessons learned and recognized practices supporting crash prevention.
• Assess and approve ADSD training providers in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Audit driver training delivery and assess training effectiveness through competency checks and field verification.
• Provide technical support for journey management planning and safe route selection.
• Advise operational teams on vehicle safety requirements, monitoring systems, and transportation risk controls.
• Maintain reliable transportation safety databases covering drivers, vehicles, roads, incidents, and associated technology.
• Plan and supervise assigned transportation safety activities to achieve section objectives.
• Train and develop assigned personnel in transportation safety, inspection methods, and monitoring systems.
• Contribute to departmental and section budget preparation and approved work plans.
• Investigate significant performance or budget variances and support appropriate corrective action.
• Implement approved policies, procedures, standards, systems, and transportation safety work practices.

Hands‑on knowledge of journey management, road traffic incident investigation, root cause analysis, fleet safety, driver competency assessment, and contractor transportation systems is important. Candidates should be comfortable using and interpreting data from IVMS, AFDD, DMS, telematics, GPS, and related vehicle monitoring technologies. The role requires the ability to identify unsafe trends, conduct field audits, challenge non‑compliant practices, coordinate corrective actions, and communicate effectively with contractors, drivers, operational teams, safety personnel, and external authorities.
