Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and monitor traffic management activities at the project site.
  • Develop TTMPs in compliance with regulations and project requirements.
  • Coordinate road diversions, lane closures, detours, and signage as required.
  • Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, traffic marshals and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with traffic authorities to obtain permits and approvals.
  • Supervise traffic marshals; ensure detours, barriers, signs and signals meet permit conditions.
  • Maintain inventory of traffic management assets and safeguard them.
  • Respond to emergencies and coordinate insurance claims if needed.
  • Monitor traffic during peak hours and adjust site operations.
  • Ensure works on live roads comply with ADOSH and RTA/ITC manuals.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain records of permits, validity and expiry dates.

Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

The Traffic Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles, equipment, and pedestrians within and around the project site by implementing and monitoring approved Traffic Management Plans in compliance with local authority regulations and project requirements. The role involves coordinating with stakeholders, obtaining necessary permits, supervising traffic marshals, managing traffic assets, and responding to emergencies, while maintaining full adherence to ADOSH regulations and RTA/ITC guidelines.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor all traffic management activities at the project site to ensure safe and efficient movement of vehicles, equipment, and pedestrians in alignment with local traffic standards.
  • Develop and implement site-specific Temporary/Permanent Traffic Management Plans (TTMP) in compliance with local authority regulations and project requirements.
  • Coordinate road diversions, lane closures, detours, and temporary signage as required for construction activities.
  • Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, traffic marshals, and external stakeholders to maintain smooth traffic flow.
  • Coordinate with relevant traffic authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Supervise traffic marshals to ensure proper installation and maintenance of detours, barriers, cones, signs, and signal lights as per permit requirements and conditions, and ensure 24/7 traffic patrolling for emergency situations.
  • Maintain and safeguard company traffic management assets, keeping accurate inventory records and ensuring they are protected from damage.
  • Respond to emergencies in case of accidents, maintain records of any damage to company assets, and coordinate with relevant parties for insurance claims.
  • Monitor traffic during peak hours and adjust site operations to minimize congestion and hazards.
  • Ensure all works on or adjacent to live roads comply with ADOSH regulations and RTA/ITC manuals.
  • Investigate and report traffic-related incidents and implement corrective and preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all traffic-related permits, including validity and expiry dates.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION:
  • Minimum Qualification:
  • NEBOSH/ IOSH
  • Bachelor/ Traffic Related Diploma
  • Minimum Experience:
  • Minimum 5-7 Years of experience
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
  • Job Specific:
  • Knowledge of ITC/ RTA Traffic Management Guidelines/ Manuals and ADOSH regulations.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, extended hours, night shifts, or weekends as required.
  • Strong oral and written English communication skills for HSE Reporting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
