Job summary

Egis Group is seeking a Traffic Coordinator to plan, coordinate and implement traffic management for road and bridge maintenance projects in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures all traffic diversions, TTM plans and road closures are executed safely in line with authority regulations.

You will obtain permits, coordinate with government agencies, and supervise site traffic setups to ensure compliance with safety standards and project schedules. UAE driving license is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Management or related field.
• 35 years of experience in traffic coordination, traffic management or infrastructure/road maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of local traffic regulations safety standards and authority approval processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare review and implement Traffic Diversion Plans (TDPs) and Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) schemes for routine and emergency maintenance works.
• Coordinate lane closures detours and site access arrangements to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow.
• Liaise with local authorities such as RTA Dubai Police Municipality and other relevant agencies to obtain necessary approvals and NOCs for road and bridge maintenance works.
• Monitor onsite traffic management setups to ensure compliance with approved plans and safety standards.
• Work closely with maintenance teams supervisors and subcontractors to schedule works in line with approved traffic management plans.
• Maintain accurate records of approvals TDPs and traffic management documents and prepare reports on permit status.

Job description

The Traffic Coordinator is responsible for planning coordinating and implementing traffic management activities required for road and bridge maintenance works. The role ensures all traffic diversions Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) plans and road closure activities are safely executed in compliance with authority regulations. The position also involves obtaining necessary permits and approvals from relevant authorities and ensuring smooth coordination between site teams and government agencies.

Key Responsibilities

Traffic Management & Diversion Planning

• Prepare review and implement Traffic Diversion Plans (TDPs) and Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) schemes for routine and emergency maintenance works.
• Coordinate lane closures detours and site access arrangements to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow.
• Conduct site assessments to determine the appropriate traffic control measures and signage required.

Authority Coordination & Approvals

• Liaise with local authorities such as RTA Dubai Police Municipality and other relevant agencies to obtain necessary approvals and NOCs for road and bridge maintenance works.
• Ensure all permits are valid updated and aligned with project schedules.
• Handle submissions through relevant authority portals and follow up until approval is obtained.

Site Supervision & Compliance

• Monitor onsite traffic management setups to ensure compliance with approved plans and safety standards.
• Conduct routine inspections to verify that traffic cones barriers signboards and lighting are correctly installed.
• Assist in resolving traffic-related issues during maintenance operations.

Coordination & Communication

• Work closely with maintenance teams supervisors and subcontractors to schedule works in line with approved traffic management plans.
• Communicate changes requirements and updates related to diversion plans to all concerned parties.
• Support emergency response situations where sudden traffic diversions or road closures are needed.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of approvals TDPs and traffic management documents.
• Prepare daily/weekly reports on traffic diversion arrangements and permit status.
• Update logs related to authority approvals validity dates and compliance status.

Qualifications :

• Diploma or Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Traffic Management or related field.
• 35 years of experience in traffic coordination traffic management or infrastructure/road maintenance.
• Experience working with RTA road and bridge maintenance projects is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of local traffic regulations safety standards and authority approval processes.
• Valid UAE driving license.
