Job summary

Emirates Electrical Engineering LLC, a part of Al Rostamani Group, seeks a skilled Testing & Commissioning engineer to oversee factory and site activities for substation equipment. You will design and implement the T&C processes and ensure safety and quality compliance.

You will lead a team, coordinate with clients and contractors, manage schedules and budgets, and maintain documentation in line with ISO guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5+ years proven experience in testing of protection panels, LCCs and RTU Panels.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and power systems.
• Solid understanding of protection relays and control schemes.
• Experience with IEDs, SCADA and protocols (Modbus, IEC 61850, DNP3).
• Familiarity with IEC 61439, IEC 60204, UL 508A and NEC/NFPA 70.

Responsibilities

• Create system to plan, control and measure the T&C projects (Factory and Site).
• Identify and evaluate risks in T&C, consider all factors affecting activities, cost and mitigation.
• Evaluate drawings and recommend modification from T&C perspective.
• Support sales and execution team for tender evaluation and technical proposal preparation.
• Develop the T&C execution plan and manage scheduling and resource allocation.
• Liaise with client/contractor/consultant for inspection, sign off and completion.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental policies.
• Monitor and evaluate outcomes for continuous improvement.
• Record budgeted vs actual spend and manage tools/test kits.

Job Purpose

Testing and commissioning of substation equipment’s, Panel testing at factory and site, annual maintenance contracts, remote end modification and associated work in line with client requirement and international standard. Design, Develop and implement the key T&C process, supervise and manage the team, ensure safety at workshop, plan strategies and meet the set targets. Lead, guide and groom the team to achieve the departmental objective and customer satisfaction. Maintain and manage documentation as per the ISO guideline.

Job Responsibilities

• Create system to plan, control and measure the T&C projects (Factory and Site)
• Identify and evaluate risks in T&C, consider all factors that could impact activities, cost and identify the ways to mitigate the risk
• Evaluate drawings and recommend modification from T&C prospective
• Support sales and execution team for tender evaluation and technical proposal preparation
• Develop the T&C execution plan and manage the planning, scheduling and resource allocation for the T&C team to ensure that the work is delivered according to client specification, on time and within allotted budget
• Liaise with client/contractor/consultant for inspection, sign off and achieve the completion with customer satisfaction
• Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies and procedure
• Monitor and evaluate the outcome for improvement
• Support internal testing team to ensure compliance to the customer/ manufacturing guideline
• Record and report budgeted vs actual spend, manpower cost, Rework cost and mitigation plan
• Set the targets for team members and evaluates their performance, develop the process to enhance the skill set

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• 3 to 5+ years of proven experience in testing of protection panels, LCCs and RTU Panels

Knowledge & Skills

• Expert-level knowledge of electrical design principles and power systems.
• In-depth understanding of protection relays (overcurrent, differential, distance, etc.) and control schemes.
• Strong proficiency in handling testing equipments
• Familiarity with IEDs, SCADA, and communication protocols (Modbus, IEC 61850, DNP3) is a strong advantage.

Standards Knowledge

Working knowledge of key industry standards (IEC 61439, IEC 60204, UL 508A, NEC/NFPA 70).
