Job summary

Alps Technical Services Inspection & Training. LLC in the UAE seeks an Electrical Inspector to conduct field testing and inspections of electrical installations at client sites, ensuring compliance with IEC/BS and UAE regulations.

The role requires 1–3 years of relevant experience and hands-on use of testing instruments. You will prepare accurate reports, maintain calibrated equipment, and coordinate with clients and operations teams to schedule and complete assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in electrical engineering field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in testing, inspection, commissioning, or maintenance.
• Experience with third-party inspection/testing is a plus.
• Knowledge of IEC/BS standards and electrical safety requirements.
• Practical use of electrical testing instruments (multimeter, Megger, earth tester, clamp meter, phase sequence tester).
• Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documents.
• Strong report writing and documentation skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel).
• Willing to work at client sites and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct electrical testing, inspection, and verification at client sites.

• Test earthing systems, insulation resistance, continuity, protection systems, and other electrical parameters.
• Inspect equipment for defects, unsafe conditions, and non-compliances.

• Coordinate with clients and site personnel during activities.
• Review technical documents, drawings, and test certificates as required.
• Follow IEC, BS, UAE regulations and client requirements.
• Maintain records of test results and reports.
• Coordinate with technical and operations teams for scheduling.
• Provide technical recommendations for deficiencies.
• Follow company HSE procedures and safe practices.

Job description

1. Conduct electrical testing, inspection, and verification at client sites.

2. Perform inspection and testing of electrical equipment and installations as per applicable standards and client requirements.

3. Carry out testing of earthing systems, insulation resistance, continuity, electrical protection systems, and other electrical parameters as applicable.

4. Inspect electrical equipment and identify defects, unsafe conditions, and non-compliances.

5. Prepare accurate inspection and testing reports based on site findings and test results.

6. Ensure testing instruments and equipment are properly maintained and have valid calibration certificates.

7. Coordinate with clients and site personnel during inspection and testing activities.

8. Review technical documents, drawings, equipment details, and test certificates where required.

9. Follow applicable IEC, BS, UAE regulations, and client-specific requirements.

10. Maintain proper records of test results, inspection reports, and related documentation.

11. Coordinate with the technical and operations teams for scheduling and completion of assignments.

12. Provide technical recommendations for identified deficiencies where applicable.

13. Follow company HSE procedures and safe working practices at all times.

Desired Candidate Profile

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

2. 1–3 years of relevant experience in electrical testing, inspection, commissioning, or maintenance.

3. Experience in third-party inspection/testing will be an advantage.

4. Knowledge of applicable IEC/BS standards and electrical safety requirements.

5. Practical experience using electrical testing instruments such as multimeter, insulation resistance tester (Megger), earth resistance tester, clamp meter, and phase sequence tester.

6. Ability to understand electrical drawings and technical documents.

7. Good technical report writing and documentation skills.

8. Good communication and interpersonal skills.

9. Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.

10. Ability to work independently at different client sites.

11. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

12. UAE experience is preferred.

13. UAE driving license is an advantage.
