Job summary

InterContinental Dubai Marina Hotel & Residences is seeking a Telephone Operator to greet guests, handle calls, and support seamless service across departments in a five-star luxury setting in Dubai.

The role requires 1–2 years’ experience in a luxury hotel, proficiency in Opera PMS and night audit procedures, and fluent English. Night shifts, weekends and holidays may be required, with staff benefits including discounts and a collaborative team culture.

Responsibilities

• Receive each guest call in a professional and friendly manner.
• Ensure guests are greeted by name upon calling as per IHG Standards.
• Maintain effective communication with all related departments to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Handle every query in a polite and courteous manner and exceed guest expectations.
• Coordinate and dispatch work orders to the appropriate department and staff and ensure completion on time.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the hotel and local services.
• Maintain awareness of guest profiles through the PMS system.
• Ensure proper operation of the switchboard and efficient transfer of calls.
• Maintain guest privacy and confidentiality.
• Demonstrate understanding of hotel policies and facilities.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.

Your role will include but not be limited to:

• Receive each guest call in a professional and friendly manner.
• Ensure guests are greeted by name upon calling as per IHG Standards.
• Maintain effective communication with all related department to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Handle every query in a polite and courteous manner and exceed guest expectations.
• Co-ordinates and assigns by dispatching work orders to the appropriate department and staff and ensures the assigned work orders are completed in accepted standard time and by priority.
• Maintain an up to date knowledge of the hotel and local services.
• Maintain an awareness of guest profile through the PMS system.
• Ensure the proper operation of the switchboard, resulting in fast and efficient transferring of internal and external calls
• Maintain the privacy of all guests by ensuring that no details of the guests are disclosed
• Demonstrate a complete understanding of the hotel’s policies, procedures and service standards and have full knowledge of the hotel facilities and happenings
• Fluency in the Englishlanguage - Additional language would be an added advantage.
