Job summary

Groupl in Abu Dhabi invites applications for a Technician Mechanical to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy industrial mechanical plant equipment. The role requires hands-on experience with rotating and static machinery in a manufacturing setting.

The successful candidate will work in shifts, including nights and weekends, hold a Diploma or trade certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Technology, and be proficient with precision tools.

Qualifications

• Diploma or trade certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Technology.
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician in an industrial/manufacturing plant.
• Practical knowledge of rotating and static equipment maintenance.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments and mechanical hand tools.
• Familiarity with PTW and LOTO procedures.
• Basic proficiency in English for technical communication.
• Ability to work in shift patterns including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and breakdown maintenance on mechanical equipment including pumps, fans, gearboxes, conveyors and compressors.
• Conduct alignment, balancing and fitting tasks on rotating machinery.
• Disassemble, inspect, repair and reassemble mechanical components as required.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly schematics and technical manuals.
• Maintain maintenance logs and update CMMS records after task completion.
• Comply with PTW, LOTO and site HSE procedures at all times.
• Support planned shutdowns and turnarounds by executing assigned maintenance tasks.
• Carry out general mechanical fabrication and fitting tasks as directed.
• Report faults and equipment anomalies to the mechanical supervisor immediately.
• Assist engineers during equipment inspections and root cause analysis activities.

Role Overview
