Job summary

Precision Group, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to ensure that all electrical and mechanical installations in the department operate efficiently with minimal downtime.

You will handle preventive, predictive maintenance on injection and blow molding machinery, attend breakdowns, optimize spare parts, and maintain records, reports and traceability in line with ISO/QHSE standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical) with 3+ years experience.
• 3–5 years of machine maintenance experience in manufacturing, preferably plastics/packaging.
• Ability to read electrical, hydraulic & pneumatic circuits and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of spare parts optimization.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical and mechanical installations in the assigned department to minimize downtime.
• Respond to break downs and resolve electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatics issues to reduce production loss.
• Coordinate major outages and arrange replacements in consultation with superiors.
• Generate repair records, job cards, and reports.
• Suggest process and machinery efficiency improvements and assist senior staff.
• Ensure housekeeping, safety, quality, food safety and environment compliance per ISO and local authorities.
• Maintain traceable records and ensure documentation is up to date.
• Adhere to company policies and perform tasks as assigned.

Job Description

JOB CONTENT

To ensure that all machines electrical & mechanical installations in the assigned dept. are in efficient working order with minimum down time.

Functional Responsibilities

• Having knowledge of general, predictive and preventive maintenance of all injection & blow moulding, thermoforming machines & accessories machines allocated & giving reports to superiors.
• Attend to break downs and resolve issues related to electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatic areas ensuring minimal loss of production time. Basic knowledge of utilities like air compressors & AC’s & chillers required checking & correcting.
• Make alternative arrangements in consultation with the superiors, in case of major breakdown of motors, pumps, electric parts breakdown and other heavy machinery parts.
• Generate and maintain records, job cards, etc. for repair works undertaken on various equipment and other machineries.
• Provide assistance in all matters to the superior and give workable suggestions on process/machinery/efficiency improvements.
• Ensure good housekeeping and cleanliness in all areas involved and works undertaken.
• Ensure that safety regulations in respect of all equipment repairs are strictly followed in all circumstances.
• Ensure compliance to Safety, Quality, Food Safety and Environment requirements as specified in the global QHSE Management System with strict adherence to ISO and local regulatory authority.
• Ensure that all records and documents are up to date and have full traceability and retrieval at all times and that all processes, procedures & activities comply with ISO and management procedures.
• Ensure that all company operational and ethical practices and policies are adhered to at all times.
• Perform any other job/task assigned by the Maintenance Executive to accomplish department objectives.

Requirements

Education, Experience, Functional Skills and Knowledge

Education/Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering (more than 3 years) preferably in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering & Electromechanical is an added advantage.

Experience

• 3 to 5 years & above of machine maintenance experience in a manufacturing industry, preferably plastic/packaging industry.

Functional Skills & Specific Knowledge

• Knowledge in reading of electrical, hydraulic & pneumatic circuits & mechanical drawings.
• Ability to optimize the spare parts.
• Logical & Analytical skills in problem solving.
